Working in the Theatre: Irish Rep – Together in Isolation

As theatre reopens, we visit with a theatre that not only transformed during this difficult year and a half but thrived. The Irish Repertory Theatre’s work ranged from solo shows filmed in isolation to a full-scale musical with a live orchestra on stage. As they told tales new and old, the staff reinvented their roles while learning new skills on the go. What resulted was a new audience, an archive of recorded theatre for patrons to watch in perpetuity, and the memory of creating art together while alone.
