Join us for a special design workshop with Tony Award-winning Designers, Clint Ramos and David Zinn! Clint and David will speak with four MFA Scenic and Costume Design students as they participate in a casual, conversational studio review of their portfolio projects. Both designers will also engage with audience members via the live chat and will provide insight on using elements of design to effectively tell a story.

Clint Ramos is a stage and film designer, advocate, and creative producer. Recent memorable designs for the stage include Slave Play, Eclipsed, Once On This Island, Torch Song, Here Lies Love. Film credits include: Production Design for Lingua Franca by Isabel Sandoval for Netflix; and costume design for RESPECT, the Aretha Franklin biopic starring Jennifer Hudson for MGM. He is the recipient of a TONY Award for his designs for Eclipsed – making him the first designer of color to win in this category.

David Zinn designs sets and costumes for Theater and Opera. On Broadway he’s designed scenery for FUNNY GIRL, THE MINUTES, DIANA, TORCH SONG, and THE HUMANS; scenery and costumes for the SPONGEBOB MUSICAL, FUN HOME, CHOIR BOY, AMELIE, and THE LAST SHIP; and costumes for A DOLL’S HOUSE PART 2, AIRLINE HIGHWAY, BENGAL TIGER…,OTHER DESERT CITIES, THE VIBRATOR PLAY and XANADU. He’s received Tony, Drama Desk, Hewes and Obie awards for his work.
