The American Theatre Wing launches applications for its 6th year of Training Scholarships – established for 6-11th grade students from populations historically underrepresented in the theatre industry.  Public school students who want to receive further training on ANY aspect of theatre –  from stage management to arts administration, design to performance, and more – can apply for funding to attend the training program of their dreams.

FAQ & GUIDELINES

Applications are now closed.

The Wing is dedicated to uplifting students through every step of their journey as theatre-makers.  A Training Scholarship can cover the cost of tuition, room and board, and admin fees of a theatre-based summer camp/study or after-school training program that students have separately applied to.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants from populations historically underrepresented in the theatre industry who demonstrate exceptional talent and economic need but have a lack of financial resources to attend after-school training programs or intensive summer study programs. We are also especially interested in students pursuing “behind the scenes” disciplines such as stage management, lighting design, playwriting, arts administration, to name a few, in addition to actors/performers.

Applying is Easy

In addition to basic information, personal narrative, and artistic work samples, this application will require the following external materials:
