Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing’s 79th Annual Antoinette Perry Tony Awards® were announced today by stage and screen stars Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss. The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 55 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2026 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The full list of nominations can be found below.
This year’s Tony Awards will return to the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 7. Hosted by music superstar and global icon P!NK, The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards will broadcast LIVE to both coasts on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+* (8:00 – 11:00 PM ET/5:00 – 8:00 PM PT).
CBS and Pluto TV will present The Tony Awards: Act One, a pre-show of live, exclusive content leading into the 79th Annual Tony Awards. Additional details will be available at a future date.
Legitimate theatrical productions opening in any of the 41 eligible Broadway theatres during the current season may be considered for Tony nominations. The 2025/2026 eligibility season began April 28, 2025 and ended April 26, 2026. The Tony Awards will be voted in 26 competitive categories by 857 designated Tony voters within the theatre community.
Special Tony Awards will be presented to The League of Resident Theatres (LORT), the largest professional theatre association of its kind in the United States, with 82 member theatres located in every major market in the U.S., including 30 states and the District of Columbia. In addition to administering three national not-for-profit collective bargaining agreements, LORT serves as a forum for sharing information regarding all aspects of theatre. LORT theaters provide countless weeks of work to artists across the country—enabling them to live and work in their own communities while contributing to both the local and national economies. Long before a show reaches Broadway, it is often a LORT theatre that boldly gives it life, resources, time and trust. Nearly 400 Broadway productions – from new works to reimagined classics – have been developed and originated at LORT member theatres. Behind each of these productions stands years of artistic investment, from commissions to workshops to early productions, as well as the cultivation of writers, directors, choreographers, designers, stage managers and performers. LORT theaters breathe life into shows that feed their local communities, as well as the Broadway ecosystem. Marking its 60th anniversary in 2026, this dynamic collective of theatres has built a legacy of artistic excellence, bold creativity and community-building. Standing on the belief that great theatre belongs everywhere, LORT has made an extraordinary, enduring contribution to Broadway and the national theatrical landscape.
As previously announced, the 2026 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre will be presented to 1/52 Project, Jake Bell, Kenn Lubin, and Loren Plotkin. The Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award will be presented to Mary-Mitchell Campbell. André Bishop, Jules Fisher, and James Lapine will each receive the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre.
The 2025-2026 Tony Award Nominating Committee consists of: Bob Balaban, Dani Barlow, Mark Bennett, Rob Berman, Jocelyn Bioh, Jeremy Blocker, Rick Boynton, Brian Harlan Brooks, Dr. Jamie Cacciola-Price, Jade King Carroll, Adam Chanler-Berat, Jordan E.
