Sunny Bates
Sunny Bates operates wherever executives, scientists, artists, creators, entrepreneurs, educators, philanthropists and visionaries connect around the globe. Present at the birth of the digital revolution, in 1988 Sunny founded her executive search firm, Sunny Bates Associates, which played a pivotal role with media and technology companies during the first iteration of the Web.
With a client list that currently includes GE, Credit Suisse, The Standard Hotel, Guardian Insurance, and over 500 past clients, ranging from Priceline, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, American Express, Sony, MTV, the National Academy of Sciences, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and many others.
Sunny was part of the founding team that launched The World Science Festival and is a founding Board Member of Kickstarter and Creative Capital. She is on the Brain Trust of TED and TEDMED and serves as a Senior Advisor to Endeavor Global, The Acumen Fund, Techstars, BetaSpring, and Middlebury College.
She is the author of career advice book, How to Earn What You’re Worth (2003, McGraw-Hill), and a graduate of Cornell, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Energy Economics and Middle Eastern Studies.
