American Theatre Wing is proud to announce that its docuseries “Working in the Theatre” has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy® Award in the category of Arts and Popular Culture Program.  This is the program’s seventh Daytime Emmy® Award nomination.

Produced to entertain audiences by revealing theatre’s inner-workings, “Working in the Theatre profiles industry luminaries and takes a closer look at unique stories that surround important work. The series documents conversations, narratives, technique, and history on film to excite and inform audiences about theatre, sharing and preserving knowledge of the theater industry. Spanning four decades of programming and featuring extraordinary work across the nation, “Working in the Theatre” is the most comprehensive theatre series to date.

The American Theatre Wing’s “Working in the Theatre” receives leadership support from The Dorothy Strelsin Foundation and is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

In addition to Working in the Theatre (AmericanTheatreWing.org), the other nominees in the category are: Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood, An Entertainment Tonight Special (CBS Media Ventures), Off Script With The Hollywood Reporter (The Hollywood Reporter [IFC]), Variety & CNN Actors on Actors (CNN Digital | Variety), and Variety Studio: Actors on Actors (PBS).

ABOUT THE DAYTIME EMMY ® AWARDS

The Daytime Emmy® Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary, and legal/courtroom programs. In 2021, NATAS and the Television Academy jointly announced plans to realign the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by content genre, as opposed to program airtime.

The Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy® Awards will be presented on Friday, October 30, and streamed on The Emmys® apps and at watch.TheEmmys.tv. The ceremonies will take place at the Hollywood Palladium.
