Gavin Creel believed in giving young theatre makers the same opportunities he was afforded. Concerned about the economic and systemic challenges facing emerging actors, he dreamed of a program to help them on their journey to a career in the theatre — to New York City, from anywhere in America.
Five Lives Changed. Every Year.
Gavin Creel was a Tony winning Artist, a mentor, a friend, and much more. Gavin believed in giving young theatre makers the same opportunities he was afforded.
The American Theatre Wing, in partnership with Celia Keenan-Bolger, Sara Bareilles, Catherine Brunell, and a group of Gavin’s friends, is launching an annual fellowship program in his honor. With your support, we aim to build a $3 Million Endowment to fund this life changing initiative.
What is the Fellowship?
Each year, a panel of Gavin’s collaborators and friends will review applications submitted through the Wing and select five emerging theatre actors beginning their professional career in New York City as a theatre maker.
