Master Class instructor Jason Michael Webb will share his insight and talent as a writer, arranger, and musical director extraordinaire, helping attendees to deconstruct their audition piece, re-think their approach, and rebuild their material to create a new experience.

About Master Class Artist, Jason Michael Webb
Jason Michael Webb received a 2019 Special Tony Award for his “outstanding arrangements” in Tarell Alvin McCraney’s breathtaking play “Choir Boy” (MTC). His work on Choir Boy also earned him a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Original Music.

Writer/Arranger: “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” (featured at the 2013 inauguration of President Barack Obama); music/lyrics for Kenny Leon’s 2019 production of Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare in the Park), filmed for PBS’ Great Performances; book/music/lyrics for “WiLDFLOWER”, the new South African musical currently in development with NBT/Apollo Theater.

Musical Director/Conductor: the gorgeous Tony-, Emmy– and Grammy-winning 2016 Broadway Revival of “The Color Purple“; internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang’s 2016 love letter to NYC, “New York Rhapsody” (PBS).
