Working in the Theatre: Pressing On: Girl From the North Country

In an unprecedented show of resilience, Girl From the North Country, the musical by Connor McPherson and Bob Dylan, opened on Broadway three times between 2020 and 2022. While the company may have gone through slight alterations, the story remained the same: a family—a community—surviving extreme hardships, must rely on each other to endure the unexpected, all while living in a bubble, together. The uncanny parallels to the show’s narrative grew with each re-opening, and the team realized these returns were not only needed to share the story, but to help our community heal.

Kimber Elayne Sprawl (Marianne Laine), Jeff Brancato (Production Stage Manager), Barbara Rubin (Associate Director), Colin Bates (Gene Laine), and Craig Bierko (Mr. Burke) and the company of Girl From the North Country guide us through their journey.
