Sara Cooper was awarded a New York International Fringe Festival award for Overall Excellence in Playwrighting on August 25th. Cooper is a 2014 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient along with Zach Redler and Shaina Taub.

Cooper’s play, Things I Left on Long Island, was billed as, “When 28-year-old Marny finds a lump in her breast, she uses it as an excuse to pretend she isn’t flunking out of adulthood and moves home to Long Island to live with her mother. As she vies with her family for the audience’s attention, Marny must either succumb to the whims of a family in crisis or take back her life—and her play.”

The Jonathan Larson Grants honor and recognize emerging musical theatre artists. The 2015 grants are accepting applications until the beginning of October. For more info:
