Alvin Deutsch
Alvin Deutsch was for 30 years senior member of Linden & Deutsch (subsequently Deutsch Klagsbrun & Blasband) which merged, approximately five years ago, with McLaughlin and Stern. Alvin received his undergraduate degree from The John Hopkins University and law degree from Yale University. He specialized in intellectual property matters, representing authors, composers, lyricists, theatre and literary agencies. He is a Board member of Goodspeed Musicals, The Johnny Mercer Foundation, The National Actors Theatre, and The President’s Advisory Council of The John Hopkins University. Alvin has published a number of articles on the field of music and copyright; is an Adjunct Professor of Copyright Law at Cardozo School of Law; and has lectured in the areas of music and theatrical law in The Practising Law Institute, the American Bar Association, New York University School of Law, Duke University School of Law and Vanderbilt University School of Law. From 1997-2001 Alvin served as Parnas-Presidente of Congregation Shearith Israel (the Spanish Portuguese Synagogue) which, in 2004, celebrated its 350th anniversary, being the oldest Jewish Congregation in North America.
