THE PROGRAM: SPRINGBOARDNYC is a two week concentrated pre-professional training course for college students planning careers in the theatre. We provide the job-seeking skills, insight into the business of theatre and the urban survival tools necessary to translate academic training into a productive career. 2010 PROGRAM DATES: June 7-18, 2010

PROGRAM TUITION: $1,800. This covers two weeks of workshops, master classes, seminars, "meet & greets," and field trips as well as a two-week unlimited Metrocard (public transportation pass), tickets to 5-7 Broadway and/or off-Broadway shows, and/or special events, including the dress rehearsal for The Tony Awards.

Tuition scholarships are available for accepted SpringboardNYC students.

HOW TO APPLY:

Applications will be accepted December 8, 2009-April 1, 2010, and will be reviewed in the order in which they are received.
Applications will not be reviewed until they are complete.

Apply online to SpringboardNYC by clicking the APPLY NOW link at the bottom of the page. To be completed, the application requires that you have the following information available.

NOTE: We suggest you gather your materials in advance, as you cannot save an application in progress.

BASIC APPLICATION:
  1. General Application Information (name, address, college info, etc.)

  2. Personal Statement (uploaded in a .doc or .pdf format) which provides information about yourself that would be interesting as we evaluate your application. For instance, have you ever lived in or been to New York City? What are your expectations of the SpringboardNYC program?

  3. Audio/Visual Audition Please submit a short sample of your work. Musical Theatre Performance Program Candidates should submit two musical performance pieces (an up-tempo piece and a ballad).

    General Performance Program Candidates should submit two, short (less than two minutes each), contrasting monologues, showing range.

    Director Program Candidates should contact program director, Randy Ellen Lutterman in advance to discuss their submissions.

    Note: Please include online links to your material or mail a standard cd/dvd/vhs tape etc. separately. Beta and Mini-DV tapes are not accepted.

OPTIONAL: SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

This application is not required for acceptance to SpringboardNYC, but is required for those wishing to receive tuition aid. Please have the following available:

  1. A Written Statement of Need: (in a .doc or .pdf format) which describes your current level of need and the reasons you are applying for a scholarship to the program.

  2. History of University Financial Aid: A copy of the summary page of your university financial aid assistance package, or your most recent official financial aid award letter (in a .doc, .pdf, or jpeg format).

  3. and/or

  4. History of Other Aid: A list of any other scholarships or aid you receive, and their amounts.
