Judy Kuhn reflects on returning to the cast of Les Misérables 20 years after appearing in the original Broadway cast and how her perspective has changed now that she’s playing Fantine, the mother of her original character Cosette; recounts her Broadway debut in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, including living through every understudy’s nightmare; describes the challenges of the fabled but troubled production of Rags; explains how Chess was restructured between its London and New York debuts; and talks about her affinity for the work of songwriter Laura Nyro.
