Wiley Hausam
WILEY HAUSAM is a long-time administrator and presenter in the performing arts, a producer of new and classic theater and musical theater, a consultant, university teacher and published editor. From 2002-2007, he was the first executive director of the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University, opening a new 850-seat facility, staffing a new organization, and managing and programming its first five seasons of world-class theater, music, dance, opera and public affairs events. With a small staff and budget, he successfully established the Skirball Center in New York City's highly-competitive cultural landscape. Critical response to Skirball Center programming was overwhelmingly positive, especially from the New York Times. From 1993-2002, he was the associate producer of the Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, acting as associate producer of four shows on Broadway (including the Tony winning Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk). He opened Joe's Pub at the Public Theater in 1998 with Audra McDonald's inaugural concert. This launched the Songbook Series, a highly successful cabaret series (1998-2002) that featured the new generation of songwriters sung by leading performers. From 1986-1993, he was an author's representative, representing such acclaimed and successful theater artists as George C. Wolfe, Anna Deavere Smith, Doug Wright, Jose Rivera, Michael John La Chiusa, Robert Falls and Mark Lamos. Prior to that he worked in opera in Chicago and Houston. He graduated from the School of Music at Northwestern University and later attended the Kellogg Graduate School of Management there. Additionally, he has studied at Columbia University (philosophy of art) and New York University (fundraising). He teaches in the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program at NYU and edited an anthology entitled The New American Musical (TCG, 2003).

Bio as of March, 2008.
