Sergio Trujillo
SERGIO TRUJILLO (Choreographer) Currently on Broadway: 2006 Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys (Olivier, Drama Desk & Outer Critics Circle nominations), The Addams Family, Memphis and Next to Normal. Recent Broadway: Guys & Dolls, All Shook Up. Off-Broadway: Saved (Lucille Lortel nomination), Romeo and Juliet (Public); A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Kismet (Encores!); the Off-Broadway Musicals Bare and The Great American Trailer Park Musical; Salome (NYC Opera). Regional: Memphis (5th Avenue, La Jolla); The Wiz, Zhivago (La Jolla); Mambo Kings (Golden Theatre, San Francisco); The Marriage of Figaro (L.A. Opera); Kiss of the Spiderwoman (North Shore Music Theatre); The Wedding Banquet (The Village Theatre); Chita Rivera's Chita and All That Jazz. International: Disney's European smash-hit Tarzan (World Theatre Award nomination); West Side Story, The Sound of Music (Stratford Festival); Peggy Sue Got Married (West End); Kiss Me, Kate (Tokyo, Japan); and a musical adaptation of Twelfth Night in Tokyo, Japan. His Film and Television credits include: Broadway: The American Musical for PBS, The 14th Annual Comedy Awards starring Nathan Lane, Martin Short and Jane Krakowski and as a judge on the Gemini Award nominated Triple Sensation. In 2000 he had the honor of choreographing The 54th Presidential Inauguration at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. Mr. Trujillo is the recipient of a 2003 Ovation Award for outstanding choreography in Empire: A New American Musical and four Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations for outstanding choreography. Upcoming: directing and choreographing Havana.
