SCOTT SCHWARTZ
Off-Broadway: Bat Boy: The Musical (Outer Critics Circle and Lucille Lortel Award, Best Off-Broadway Musical); tick, tick...BOOM! (Outer Critics Circle Award, Best Off-Broadway Musical); Golda's Balcony and Franz Kafka's The Castle (both at Manhattan Ensemble Theater); and No Way to Treat a Lady. On Broadway, he directed Golda's Balcony, and co-directed Jane Eyre with John Caird. Other credits include Lavender Girl as part of 3hree conceived by Harold Prince, and new British and American tours of Godspell. Regional theatres include Berkshire Theatre Festival, Goodspeed Opera House, La Jolla Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, Signature Theatre, Annenberg Center, Virginia Stage Company and others. For radio broadcast, Mr. Schwartz directed the Grammy-nominated recording of The Prisoner of Second Avenue, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason, for L.A. TheatreWorks. He is a member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and is a graduate of Harvard University.
