Robert Wright
ROBERT WRIGHT co-wrote lyrics and music with George Forrest since meeting in 1929 at Miami High School. In the mid-1930s they earned an MGM contract and wrote songs for Maytime. They are best known for Kismet (1953), Song of Norway (1944), Magdalena (1948), and an African-American version of Kismet called Timbuktu! (1978). They also wrote Gypsy Lady (1946), Kean (about the stage actor, 1961) and Anya (a musical about Princess Anastasia, 1965). Died July 27, 2005 in Miami.
