PETER STONE Broadway: Titanic, 1776, The Will Rogers Follies, Woman of the Year (all Tony Award winners for Best Musical); Curtains, My One and Only; Sugar; Two by Two; and Kean. Film: Father Goose (AA, Original Screenplay), Charade (Edgar Award), 1776 (Christopher Award, Screen Adaptation), The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3, Sweet Charity, Who's Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? and Just Cause, among others. TV: The Defenders (Emmy). In the course of a lifelong devotion to musical theatre, and as one of its greatest practitioners, Mr. Stone hit that rarest of creative trifectas, winning a Tony, an Oscar and an Emmy. He was incorrigible, beloved and irreplaceable.
