MORTON GOTTLIEB produced Same Time, Next Year (1975) and Sleuth (1971 Best Play Tony Award winner), both subsequently made into films. Also on Broadway: Brian Friel's Faith Healer (1979), Bernard Slade's Tribute, Frank Marcus's The Killing of Sister George (1966), Brian Friel's Lovers, Joseph Stein's Enter Laughing (1963), and Joseph's Heller's We Bombed In New Haven (1968). After studying drama at Yale he entered the theater business as a press agent, later working on several shows as company manager or general manager. His first venture as a producer was a 1953 summer stock production of “Arms and the Man,” which happened to be the last stage appearance by Marlon Brando. Born May 2, 1921, Died June 25, 2009 at age 88.
