MIKE OCKRENT (Director) studied physics at Edinburgh University. He was an Associate Director at Perth Theatre, Scotland. Subsequently Artistic Director at the Traverse Theatre Edinburgh. Among his many London productions: Once a Catholic, Educating Rita (Evening Standard Award - Best Play), Passion Play (Evening Standard Award - Best Comedy), Follies (Olivier, Evening Standard and Drama Magazine - Best Musical), Zenobia for the RSC. Me and My Girl: London (Olivier - Best Musical), Broadway (Drama Desk Award - Best Director), Australia, Los Angeles. Crazy for You: Broadway (Tony Award - Best Musical), London (Olivier - Best Musical). Other Broadway productions: King David, Big, Once a Catholic, Atkinson at the Atkinson, A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden. He is to direct The Night They Raided Minsky's (which he co-conceived) on Broadway. Films: Dancin' Thru the Dark (BBC Formost Films and British Screen), Popular Choice of 1990 Venice Film Festival, Money for Nothing (BBC), Writers Guild Award for 1994. He has written a theatrical novel: Running Down Broadway, Random Century. He is Executive Producer on Warner Bros.' Metal God.
