MADELINE KAHN appeared in Mel Brooks' films Blazing Saddles (1974) and Paper Moon (1973) and received Academy Award nominations for best supporting actress. On Broadway, she received Tony Award nominations for In the Boom Boom Room (1973), On the 20th Century (1978), and the revival of Born Yesterday (1989); she won a Tony in 1993 for her portrayal of a kooky matron in The Sisters Rosenzweig. In 1999, she moved to the small screen as a neighbour on The Cosby Show Born September 29, 1942, Boston, Massachusetts. Died December 3, 1999, New York, N.Y.
