Hugh Jackman
HUGH JACKMAN received a 2004 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards for his acclaimed portrayal of Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz. He also received the 2005 Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Music or Variety Program as host of the 2004 Tony Awards. Other stage appearances include Curly in Oklahoma! at Britain's National Theatre (Olivier Award nomination), Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard (MO Award - Australia's Tony Award) and Gaston in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (MO Award nomination). His first major U.S. film appearance as Wolverine in the first X-Men film was followed by leading roles in Someone Like You, Swordfish, Kate & Leopold (Golden Globe nomination) and X-Men 2. Mr. Jackman's career began in Australia in the independent films Paperback Hero and Erskineville Kings (Australian Film Critics Circle Best Actor Award and the Australian Film Institute Best Actor nomination). In 1999, he was named "Australian Star of the Year" at the Australian Movie Convention. Television work includes the hit Australian series Corelli and Halifax f.p. Mr. Jackman will be seen in the feature film, The Fountain, directed by Darren Aronofsky, an upcoming Woody Allen film and the third film in the X-Men series; and heard in the animated features Flushed Away and Happy Feet.
