Eddie Izzard
EDDIE IZZARD is an award-winning performer whose many diverse stage and film roles complement his already formidable reputation as an exceptionally talented stand-up comedian. This versatile actor and comic has been awarded the Time Out Award (1991) and the British Comedy Award for Top Stand-Up Comedian (1993, 1996), as well as the Jury Award for Best One-Man Show in the Aspen Comedy Festival (1998). For his show Eddie Izzard: Dressed to Kill, he received an Emmy Award for Best Writing in a Music, Variety or Comedy Program and a second Emmy Award for Best Individual Performance in a Music, Variety of Comedy Program (2000). Among his other television comedy appearances are Eddie Izzard: Unrepeatable, Eddie Izzard: Definite Article, The Unseen Frank Skinner TV Show and 30 Years of Monty Python: A Revelation. Other shows include One Word Improv (1997), Glorious (1997), and Sexie (2003). He also wrote the television sitcom, The Cows (1996), starred in the television drama 40 (2003) for Channel 4, Channel 5's Kitchen, and the critically acclaimed The Riches (2007). On the big screen Izzard's credits include the Academy Award nominated Shadow Of The Vampire; My Super Ex-Girlfriend; The Criminal; Circus; Mystery Men; The Avengers; Velvet Goldmine; The Secret Agent; and cameos in Romance and Cigarettes, Oceans 12 (and 13), The Aristocrats, Across the Universe. His London stage credits include Lenny, Edward II, Cryptogram and Oneonta. Eddie made his Broadway debut in the 2003 revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg which garnered him nominations for a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Drama League Award, and won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actor in a Play.
