Caroline Chao
CAROLINE CHAO began in professional lighting as an Allen Lee Hughes Lighting Fellow at Arena Stage in Washington, DC. She has worked at Houston Grand Opera for three seasons and at The Santa Fe Opera for ten summer seasons, the last four as Lighting Director. She has also taught lighting as a lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin. She has worked as an associate and assistant lighting designer at regional companies including The Shakespeare Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Papermill Playhouse, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and Yale Repertory Theatre. Broadway productions include 110 in the Shade, South Pacific, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Speed-the-Plow, Blithe Spirit, Ragtime, The Motherf**ker with the Hat, and Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark.
