Alan Wasser
ALAN WASSER, founder Alan Wasser Associates, which general managed the Broadway and touring productions of Colette, A Little Family Business, Rudolf Nureyev and the Boston Ballet, and the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico. In 1985 Alan was appointed general manager of productions for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Since 1986, Alan has general managed all of Cameron Mackintosh's Broadway and U.S. touring productions, including Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, Swan Lake, Putting It Together, Martin Guerre, and Oklahoma! In recent years, Alan Wasser Associates general managed the Broadway productions of Fosse, Seussical, Sweet Smell of Success, Hollywood Arms, All Shook Up, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mambo Kings, Lestat, Martin Short - Fame Becomes Me, Journey's End, Chita Rivera - The Dancer's Life, Thurgood, Grey Gardens, Cry-Baby, and A Catered Affair, and the touring family attractions Cirque Dreams - Jungle Fantasy, Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer, and Thomas the Train. Current and upcoming Broadway productions include Phantom (23rd year on Broadway and 18th year on tour), A Chorus Line, Dreamgirls, Oleanna, The Miracle Worker, Spider-Man, and Walking With Dinosaurs. Alan is also the co-founder and president of AWA Touring Services and Type A Marketing, two companies which provide tour booking, engagement management, and marketing services for a variety of entertainment attractions in New York City, on tour in North America, and internationally. In 2009 Alan and his business partner Allan Williams were appointed to general manage the annual Tony Awards®, Broadway's pre-eminent honor recognizing excellence in the theatre, which is broadcast nationally on the CBS television network.
