ALAN EISENBERG, who retired from Actors' Equity Association in October 2006, began his involvement with Equity in 1981, completing the longest tenure of an Executive Director in the union's 95 year history. He was a Trustee of the Equity-League Pension and Health and 401(k) Funds. He served as Vice President on the Boards of the Actors Fund, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Career Transition for Dancers, and the Alliance for Inclusion in the Arts; was a member of the Tony Administration Committee; co-chair of the Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG); Vice President of the Department for Professional Employees, a division of the AFL-CIO, and a visiting Professor at the Yale School of Drama. Mr. Eisenberg graduated from the University of Michigan and NYU School of Law and started working at Equity after years of practicing labor law representing trade unions, particularly the newspaper industry.
